Hostinger is one of the most popular WordPress hosting companies, and for good reason. Hostinger offers a comprehensive suite of performance and hosting features while keeping its prices very reasonable. With data centers worldwide, access to a global CDN, and support in 10 languages, Hostinger is a quality hosting company no matter where you or your customers are in the world.
In this review post, we will detail Hostinger’s services, how they performed on our performance benchmarks and speed tests, and our overall ranking of their web hosting services.
Hostinger WordPress General Features
Hostinger Features | Is this good? | |
---|---|---|
Support Hours | Yes, 24/7 support via live chat or email. Support offered in 10 languages. | ✅ 24/7 support is pretty standard and a must-have in our opinion. |
Server Locations | USA, the United Kingdom, France, India, Singapore, Brazil, Lithuania, and the Netherlands | ✅ Most plans include Cloudflare CDN's worldwide servers. |
Uptime Guarantee | Yes, 99.9%. | ✅ Most hosts offer at least a 99.9% uptime guarantee. |
SSL Included | Yes, Let's Encrypt. | ✅ Free SSL is standard and a must-have for website. |
Money-Back Guarantee | Yes, 30 days. | ✅ 30 days is standard across web hosts. |
Email Hosting | Yes, most plans offer up to 100 email addresses with 1GB storage per email address. | ⚠️ We love that 100 email addresses are included, but 1GB storage per email address is low. We'd rather have less email addresses and more storage per email. |
Plan Lengths | Monthly, or one, two, or *four* years. | ✅ Four-year plans offer the largest discounts, but two-year plans are not much different. |
Backups Available | Weekly on the two lowest tiers, daily on all other tiers. | ✅ Weekly backups are stored for seven weeks, while daily backups are stores for seven days. 7-day storage is low, many hosts offer 14-30 day backups. |
Site Migrations | Yes. | ✅ Having the host transfer the website is best to prevent any problems and stress. |
Firewall | Yes, Web Application Firewall (WAF). | ✅ Firewall is crucial and standard among web hosts. |
Malware Detection | Yes. | ✅ Malware detection is very important and also standard. |
Hostinger offers a full selection of features for its WordPress hosting plans, which is awesome. But note that Hostinger doesn’t include all of these features with the two lowest-tier WordPress Plans – the “Single” and the “Premium” plans. On the one hand, this is to be expected as the two lower WordPress plans are quite cheap; Hostinger doesn’t have to give away the farm for little cost. Yet, on the other hand, we want to make sure to point this out because it may be tempting to go with a cheap plan but then suffer performance-wise for it. Don’t cheap out!
When things go wrong – which they will – it is important to consider the website host’s support policy. Hostinger offers 24/7 email and live chat support, which is standard among WordPress host providers. While a couple of hosts offer 24/7 phone support, we consider phone support a nice but not a critical feature. Hostinger also states they offer support in 10 languages, which is awesome.
If you are truly just starting out and want to create a simple blog, perhaps the “Single” plan is okay. Yet we assume that most of you intend to grow your business, and you want to be ahead of the curve in this department. High-performing websites are crucial for online traffic, especially since Google considers your website’s speed when ranking your page for SEO.
Hostinger offers email hosting with all plans, even their lowest WordPress plan, which we love. However, one drawback with Hostinger’s email plan is that while they allow up to 100 separate email accounts, each account only gets 1GB of mail storage. If you use your email address even a moderate amount, this could add up pretty quickly. We would prefer to have fewer email accounts but more storage per account.
Having said that, Hostinger sells separate Titan email hosting plans for less than $5/month, and you can get up to 50GB of storage. Or you can also buy your Google Workspace plan through Hostinger as well. This is a very good deal, so as long as you budget for it, this isn’t a deal breaker at all. Note that if you already have a separate email plan, such as through Google as part of Google Workspace, you don’t need to worry about email hosting – Google is your email host.

Regardless of the size of your business, it is important to look professional. Having a custom email domain adds to your professionalism. Which looks more professional to you: mybusiness@gmail.com or info@mybusiness.com? If you said info@mybusiness.com, then we agree with you and that is why email hosting is important. Email hosting allows you to have your own email domain instead of relying on Gmail or another free email provider.
If you have Google Workspace, you probably have your own email domain. In this case, Google is your email host. But if you are just using an @gmail.com email address, it is time to upgrade!

Hostinger WordPress Optimization Features
Hostinger Features | Is this good? | |
---|---|---|
Image Optimization | Yes, through Cloudflare Polish | ✅ You want image optimization to ensure faster page loading, but this can be achieved with WordPress plug-ins as well. |
CDN Access | Hostinger CDN offered on all plans except the two lowest WordPress plans. | ⚠️ This is good, as long as you don't get one of the two lowest WordPress plans. |
CSS/Javascript Minification | Yes through Cloudflare | ✅ |
Staging Website allowed? | Staging websites offerred on all plans except the two lowest WordPress plans. | ⚠️ Staging websites allow you to test changes to a website before going live. |
HTTP versions | HTTP/2 for servers, HTTP/3 for Hostinger's CDN. | ⚠️ HTTP/3 is the latest version, so it is weird it is only offered on the CDN, but better than nothing! |
Data Compression | Yes, GZIP and Brotli | ✅ Brotli is the latest data compression standard. |
Full Page Caching | Yes | ✅ |
Hostinger offers a lot of fantastic optimization features. We like that Hostinger uses LiteSpeed technology, as we have had great experiences with LiteSpeed on other web hosting platforms too. Hostinger also allows you to customize your hosting plan as you grow to be one step ahead of your business’s growth. Additionally, Hostinger says they offer a free “24-hour Boost” option if you expect a large traffic spike. We also like that Hostinger allows an unlimited number of visitors and bandwidth, which is one less thing to worry about if you are growing quickly.
On its top WordPress Managed Plan and all Cloud Hosting plans, Hostinger includes its own Hostinger CDN. We believe a CDN is crucial for businesses and websites that want to grow, so we are disappointed that Hostinger doesn’t include it in its lower WordPress plans. We note this below when we review Hostinger’s Managed WordPress plans. But for plans that include the CDN, this is a great feature and one we assume to be included for mid and higher-tier plans.
Read More: What is a CDN?
Hostinger has built-in CSS and JavaScript minification, along with WebP image compression. We like that Hostinger also can control the size and quality of the image compression. Portfolio websites will want higher-quality images than a simple blog, for example. We also appreciate that Hostinger uses LiteSpeed by default. Litespeed is our favorite WordPress optimization plug-in!

While Hostinger offers one of the lowest-cost WordPress hosting plans – $2.99/month for the “Premium” plan on a four-year contract – we don’t believe you should consider it. If you are even somewhat serious about your WordPress website, the only real plan you should consider is the highest – the “Business” plan. The Business plan includes upgraded performance (“up to 5x” according to Hostinger), Hostinger CDN, a free staging website, and daily backups that the two lower plans do not include. We consider these features to be must-haves, and for the price difference, it is well worth paying for the Business plan.
Thus, your question should not be which of these three plans you should get. Instead, you should ask yourself if the Business plan is adequate or if you should jump to Hostinger’s Cloud Hosting, which we detail in the next section.

We consider Hostinger’s Cloud Hosting plans to be serious contenders among mid to upper-tier hosting plans. The lowest plan – the “Cloud Startup” – is a little light on performance, with only 3GB of RAM and 2 CPU cores. We would have expected 4GB of RAM to be included even on the lowest cloud plan. Nonetheless, all three plans come loaded with features, including unlimited bandwidth, which we appreciate.
Hostinger says that the middle plan – the “Cloud Professional” – is their most popular cloud hosting plan. We can see why. This middle plan doubles the amount of RAM and CPU cores compared to the lower “Cloud Startup” plan, but without doubling the price. As we mentioned above, the Cloud Startup is a bit light on performance specs, so we’d recommend the Cloud Professional if you are going for a Cloud plan.
Hostinger “Agency” Pro Panel
Hostinger doesn’t advertise Agency-specific WordPress plans. However, since Hostinger includes hundreds of websites in almost all of its plans, Agencies can use Hostinger to manage websites for their clients. Hostinger includes its Pro Panel for free, allowing you to manage all of your websites quickly. Note that the Pro Panel includes client collaboration and 20% commissions for having your clients sign up for a new web hosting plan.

Hostinger Performance Tests
As with all of our web hosting reviews, we tested Hostinger using our test WordPress website to see how Hostinger performs in real life. We ran all of these tests using the Cloud Startup Hosting plan, which is our recommended WordPress plan. There are three components: Google Core Web Vitals, GTMetrix Performance, and worldwide speed testing. The results are below.
Google Core Web Vitals – Lighthouse Scores
First Contentful Paint (FCP)
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
Total Blocking Time (TBT)
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
Speed Index (SI)
Total Performance Score
Read More: What do these scores mean?
Google likes fast-loading websites because they provide amazing visitor experiences. These scores show how fast and how smoothly a website loads. The better your score is, the greater chance that Google will increase the search ranking of your page, especially if your competitors score poorly. Google prefers everyone to score 90-100, while 50-89 is ok. A score below 50 is poor.
While part of these scores will depend on how efficient your website is, part of these scores also depend on how fast your web host provider is. Additionally, if your web host provider offers optimization features such as minification, then that will improve your score. You can learn more about these metrics on this Google web page.
Hostinger had one of the best Lighthouse scores across all of our WordPress host testing. We thought this was a great performance on the Google Core Web Vitals, especially on the LCP score, where many hosts have problems.
The scores above are not the actual Lighthouse values but rather the scores Lighthouse assigns to each metric. We chose to display these scores instead of the actual values to make comparing scores across web host providers easier. Below is the chart showing the actual Lighthouse values for those of you who are more technically minded.
Lighthouse Metric | Raw Value | Lighthouse Score |
---|---|---|
First Contentful Paint (FCP) | 1.4 seconds | 97 |
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | 3.2 seconds | 71 |
Total Blocking Time (TBT) | 0 ms (miliseconds) | 100 |
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | 0.031 | 100 |
Speed Index (SI) | 2.8 seconds | 96 |
GTMetrix Performance
Read More: What do these scores mean?
As mentioned above, Google likes fast-loading websites because they provide amazing visitor experiences. GTMetrix analyzes and scores web pages using mostly the same criteria as Google Lighthouse. However, GTMetrix allows you to customize the scoring based on location and type of mobile device. GTMetrix also weighs criteria differently than Google itself, providing another opinion on how the user experiences your website loading.
We used three scores from GTMetrix that match Lighthouse for comparison: FCP, SI, and LCP. We then added the Time to First Byte (TTFB) because many people are interested in this score. Finally, we also added the total fully loaded time to measure a complete loading.Based on GTMetrix’s documentation, there are how the scores measure:
- TTFB: Good is less than 800ms and bad is above 1800ms.
- FCP: Good is less than 0.9 seconds and bad is above 1.6 seconds.
- SI: Good is less than 1.3 seconds and bad is above 2.3 seconds.
- LCP: Good is less than 1.2 seconds and bad is above 2.4 seconds.
- Total Load Time: GTMetrix doesn’t have a score chart for this, but based on our own testing, less than three seconds is good and over five seconds is bad.
You can learn more about these metrics on this GTMetrix web page.
Hostinger had an excellent performance on GTMetrix, especially for the price. Many locations fully loaded in less than two seconds, which is amazing. Only Dubai and Johannesburg had poorer performance, although neither location was absolutely terrible. In fact, if we remove Dubai and Johannesburg from the averages, Hostinger’s average load time is 1.6 seconds – that is awesome!
Hostinger comes with Litespeed, so the fully loaded times align with other WordPress hosts we tested with Litespeed – perhaps even better. TTFB times were amazing, except for Dubai and Johannesburg. Again, if we remove these two cities from the averages, Hostinger’s average TTFB is 636ms. That is top-tier performance!
Server Location | Time to First Byte (TTFB) | First Contentful Paint (FCP) | Speed Index (SI) | Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | Fully Loaded Time |

Worldwide Load Testing

Our site was hosted on Hostinger’s servers in Virginia in the eastern United States. Hostinger performed excellently in most locations but was a bit slow in a couple of locations, especially Johannesburg. However, Hostinger will deliver fast results for blogs and businesses that want a global audience.

Our Hostinger WordPress Review Recommendation
Overall, we believe that Hostinger’s WordPress hosting services are of high quality and offer a great value for the price. However, we caution against choosing the lower-tier plans as they may not include all the necessary features for optimal performance. Additionally, while Hostinger’s email hosting is included with all plans, the storage limit per account may be a concern for some users. Hostinger’s optimization features and support options are impressive, and we appreciate their use of LiteSpeed technology. We highly recommend Hostinger’s Business plan for serious WordPress users.
Hostinger’s WordPress Managed Plans are some of the lowest-cost WordPress hosting plans available, but we advise against choosing the “Single” plan if you are serious about your WordPress website. For optimal performance, we highly recommend choosing the “Cloud Startup” plan, which includes upgraded performance and Hostinger’s CDN.
Overall, we believe that Hostinger’s WordPress hosting services are a great choice for users looking for high-quality hosting at an affordable price. We also recommend comparing to both Bluehost for beginners and to SiteGround or WPX for advanced users. And if you need even better performance, even at a higher price, look at our review of top-tier performer Rocket.net.
